This novel is about Maggie, who is getting married many years after being left a widow, and her grown up daughters. It's a light story, full of humor but very true to life when it comes to the way we deal with our life, our problems and our families. This is the reason I enjoyed this novel so much, I connected to each of the daughters, Courtney, Sienna and Rachel, and their problems and I was totally invested in each of their stories.
I started off thinking I would like Courtney's story and romance the best, and while I adored her and Quinn together, and I loved Courtney's quirky, insecure character and how brave she was at the end, I enjoyed Rachel's romance the best. A second chance romance is always a treat, and this one was especially so because it seemed like everything was more than over and done with for Rachel and Greg. I loved how much Rachel grew in this novel, and I loved that Greg helped her find her way to a happily ever after that simply delighted me. And I think will delight many readers.
Sienna's romance was a bit different than her sisters' but worked just as well. And it provided me with more moments of hilarity as her engagement to David was simply ridiculous. But what made this novel for me was how the honest the interactions were between the sisters, their mother and Joyce, who is a second mom to the sisters. There were some arguments, and hurt feelings as there are within families, but they overcame this with forgiveness and understanding. It's refreshing to read a novel that is fun and yet so true to life as well, especially when the stories are so well interwoven and told. This was a lovely novel, difficult to put down and one that stands out as truly memorable.
I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
